The study conducted by the Romanian Police highlights that the internet is an integral part of children's lives, with the majority of them using it for communication and entertainment. Almost 75% of pupils feel safe online, although 23% do not share this opinion. Children are aware of the risks, but face problems such as accessing inappropriate content or harmful messages. Some choose not to discuss these experiences out of fear or shame. Also, a significant number of students consider challenges on social networks as important, which can lead to dangerous behavior. The study was based on a sample of 1,351 students aged 10-18.
