In the final, the South American defeated Argentina's Francisco Cerundolo, 6-4, 7-6 (7/1), to become, at 18 years, 5 months and 26 days, the 10th youngest player to win an ATP tournament since 1990.
The record for the youngest player to win an ATP tournament since 1990 is held by Australia's Lleyton Hewitt. The former world No. 1 won the first of his 30 titles at the age of 16 years, 10 months and 18 days. It happened in Adelaide in 1998.
