Although the club communicated that the termination of the contract was amicable, the Spanish press, including Marca and AS, emphasized that the decision was made by president Florentino Perez at an unexpected moment. Alonso had a short career of 232 days at Real Madrid, during which he led the team in 34 matches, fulfilling only 20% of his contract, which extended until 2028.
