U-Banca Transilvania Cluj suffered a heavy defeat on Thursday evening, November 5, 2026, in the away game against La Laguna Tenerife, in the sixth round of the BKT EuroCup. The Romanian champions were beaten 113-73, by a 40-point margin, after a game authoritatively dominated by the Spanish side.

La Laguna Tenerife won all four quarters. U-BT Cluj managed to keep pace only in the second quarter, which they lost by a single point. Otherwise, the hosts controlled the game and quickly built a substantial lead. Approximately 40 supporters of the Cluj team were present in the stands.

The main scorers of the game were Fernandez with 22 points, Shermadini with 21, and Guy with 14 for the hosts, for whom Huertas (43 years old) also played, while Hill scored 21, Smart 10, and Bess 10 for U BT Cluj.

Coach Mihai Silvășan acknowledged the opponent's superiority and stated that his team “is not where it needs to be.” The coach thanked the fans who had traveled across Europe to support the team, despite the poor results in recent times.

Silvășan emphasized that the team must react in difficult moments and show more attitude. U-BT Cluj will have the opportunity to improve its situation in the next five games played at home.

The next EuroCup game is scheduled for November 10, in Cluj, against Turk Telekom Ankara.
