The Oklahoma City Thunder took the lead as early as the end of the first quarter and did not relinquish it, despite repeated comebacks from their opponents. NBA MVP Shai Gilgeous-Alexander was the player of the game, scoring 30 points and providing 9 assists, without making any long-range shots. He scored the decisive basket in the final moments of the game.

The Thunder had a well-prepared team, with seven players scoring over 10 points, Alex Caruso being the second-highest scorer with 17 points. On the other side, the Spurs relied on Victor Wembanyama and Stephon Castle, who scored 21 and 25 points, respectively. However, the 21 turnovers by the Spurs were decisive, giving the Thunder 27 points.
