Thomas Partey, a 32-year-old defensive midfielder, has signed a season-long contract with Villarreal despite serious allegations of rape and sexual assault. He is charged with five counts for acts committed between April 2021 and June 2022. Villarreal said it respects the player's presumption of innocence and is awaiting the verdict of the courts, without commenting on further details. Partey had a successful career at Arsenal, where he made 167 appearances.
