The Olympic flame has arrived in Milan, and the Romanian Cristi Chivu, the coach of the Inter Milan team, was among the celebrities who carried the torch. Chivu ran alongside former tennis players Flavia Pennetta and Francesca Schiavone, as well as the president of the Italian Olympic Committee, Luciano Buonfiglio.
The torch passed through the square in front of the Sant'Ambrogio church and continued towards the Duomo square, accompanied by family and friends. Chivu expressed that he was "honored" by this experience. The 2026 Winter Olympics will take place in Milan-Cortina from February 6 to 22, with the participation of 28 Romanian athletes in eight disciplines. This edition will be historic, taking place in a multi-regional format, utilizing the existing infrastructure in northern Italy.
