The Spanish government, through its spokesperson Patxi Lopez, has hinted that the Spanish national team could boycott the 2026 World Cup, scheduled to be held in the USA, Canada, and Mexico, if Israel manages to qualify. Lopez emphasized that the majority of Spanish society protests against Israel's actions, appealing to the dignity of the Spanish people. Although Israel is currently in 3rd place in the group, with slim chances of qualification, the government's position remains firm in light of the current situation.
