The 35-year-old Sorana Cîrstea defeated American Ann Li 6-2, 6-4 in the final of the WTA 250 in Cleveland to win her third career WTA singles title. Cîrstea, who came from the qualifiers, dominated the match, never losing her serve and hit five consecutive winners in the first set. With the win, the Romanian earned a check for 36,300 dollars and 268 WTA points. Cîrstea will next play at the US Open against Argentina's Solana Sierra.
