Sorana Cîrstea qualified for the quarter-finals at Roland Garros, defeating Xiyu Wang 6-3, 7-6

Sorana Cîrstea has managed to qualify for the quarter-finals of the tournament at Roland Garros, after defeating the Chinese athlete Xiyu Wang with a score of 6-3, 7-6, in a match played at the Suzanne-Lenglen arena.

This marks the second time Cîrstea has reached the quarter-finals at Roland Garros, following her performance in 2009. Last year, the Romanian also reached the round of 16 in 2021, and in the third round of this year's competition, she achieved an impressive victory against the Argentine Solana Sierra, without losing a single game, with 6-0, 6-0.

Sorana Cîrstea, currently ranked 18th in the world rankings, has announced that she will end her professional career at the end of 2026.
