Sorana Cîrstea left the Bad Homburg WTA tournament after a first qualifying round defeat to fifth seed Ajla Tomljanovic 6-2, 6-3. The match lasted just 66 minutes and Cîrstea, ranked 168th in the WTA rankings, needed a wild card to participate. The win gives Ajla Tomljanovic the advantage in head-to-head matches, leading Cîrstea 3-1.
