Aryna Sabalenka defeats Sorana Cîrstea and qualifies for the quarter-finals in Brisbane

Aryna Sabalenka qualified for the quarter-finals of the Brisbane tournament after a clear victory, 6-3, 6-3, against Sorana Cîrstea in the third round.

Sabalenka came in with a negative record on hard courts against the Romanian, their only previous encounter on this surface being won by Cîrstea in Miami in 2023. For Sorana, the Adelaide tournament follows and then the Australian Open.
