Simona Halep, the only Romanian player to win the Wimbledon trophy, discussed the 2019 final against Serena Williams, which she won decisively. In the documentary "Simona: The Story of a Dream," Halep explained that she won the match "from the locker room," waiting for Serena to come out and being the first to enter the court. She felt considerable pressure, given Serena's status as one of the greatest players in history, but she managed to overcome her fears. Halep emphasized that she had confidence in her chances, even though previous matches against Serena had been very close. She also mentioned that the documentary was an opportunity to share previously unexpressed experiences. Halep has 22 WTA titles to her name, and for her success at Wimbledon, Ion Tiriac stated that she must be respected forever. In another context, Serena Williams returned to Wimbledon, where she played both singles and doubles alongside her sister, Venus.
