Gabriel Bortoleto, a 21-year-old Formula 1 driver, was involved in a dramatic accident during the sprint race in Brazil. In the last lap, while attempting to overtake, Bortoleto lost control of his car, crashing into the barrier on the left and being thrown into the barrier on the opposite side, resulting in a total destruction of the car. Fortunately, the driver managed to exit the car on his own, reporting only minor pains, described as normal for a race weekend. The accident occurred at a speed of 339 km/h, highlighting the seriousness of the situation. This is a recent example of the advancements in driver safety, thanks to the 'halo' protection device introduced in 2018. On the same day, the Brazilian Grand Prix was scheduled, with Lando Norris on pole position. Max Verstappen, the reigning champion, faced difficulties and will start from 16th place.
