The two Romanian players, Elizabeta Samara and Bernadette Szocs, had an excellent debut at the United States Smash, securing their place in the quarterfinals of the women's doubles. They defeated the Korean-Japanese pair of Joo Cheonhui and Miyuu Kihara 3-0, demonstrating effective strategy and precise strokes. In the quarterfinals, Samara and Szocs will play against Taipei's team of Cheng I-Ching and Li Yu-Jhun on Thursday night.
