Romania has become world champion in sports dance, Adult Standard category, at the Transylvanian Grand Prix 2025

Romania has achieved a historic performance, becoming for the first time world champion in sports dance, Adult Standard category, thanks to the couple Rareș Cojoc and Andreea Emilia Matei, at the Transylvanian Grand Prix 2025, held in Sibiu. This victory marks a landmark moment for the Romanian Federation of Sports Dance (FRDS) and the entire national team, which impressed with elegance, precision, and artistic strength. In the same final, the couple Georgy Kalashnikov – Daria Grigore secured 4th place in the world, while Luca Teodor Butnaru and Julia Denisa Bidică ranked 15th, thus highlighting the high level of Romanian sports dance. FRDS stated that this victory is a "golden moment" for Romanian sports and confirms the value of Romanian dancers on the international stage.
