Men's Handball European Championship 2026: Romania debuts today, against Portugal, in group B, at 19:00

Upon arriving in Herning, coach George Buricea expressed his confidence in the Romanian team and showed excitement to participate in the first major final tournament of his career.

On Friday, groups B and D will play, according to the schedule: Portugal – Romania (19:00) and Denmark – North Macedonia, respectively Slovenia – Montenegro and the Faroe Islands – Switzerland.

"We expect to play a very good match, to use all our skills, and in the end, we will see what will happen. It is not easy to stop this very fast game of Portugal, but I also do not want to talk about our plan for this match. I am very confident and believe a lot in my team," said George Buricea on Thursday.
