On June 16, Rapid Bucharest and Universitatea Craiova won their case at the Court of Arbitration for Sport (CAS) regarding the appeal against the 'Rule 5+6', imposed by the Romanian Football Federation (FRF) at the beginning of the 2024-2025 season. This rule requires teams in the SuperLiga to have at least 5 Romanian players on the field, and clubs that did not comply with the rule were fined.

With the cancellation of the rule, all fines and bonuses related to the recently concluded season were annulled. The FRF reacted with a statement, asserting that it will respect the CAS decision and will continue to promote the development of Romanian footballers.

Although the rule has been canceled, the FRF urges clubs to maintain a high presence of domestic players, considering that this is essential for the success of Romanian football and for the future of the national teams.
