David Popovici finished the second semi-final of the 200m freestyle with a time of 1:45.02 minutes, which was initially under the world record set in 2009. The first semi-final was won by Luke Hobson (USA) in 1:44.80 minutes. Popovici was joined in the final by four other swimmers, including Carlos D'Ambrosio (Italy) and Tatsuya Murasa (Japan). Popovici's personal record time is 1:42.97 minutes, set in 2022. The final will take place on Tuesday at 14:02.
