Novak Djokovic, former world number 1, will return to the clay courts at the Madrid Masters 1000 tournament, scheduled between April 22 and May 3. After missing the last two Masters 1000 tournaments in Miami and Monte-Carlo, Djokovic was spotted training on the court in Madrid, according to a video posted by the organizers.

His last match was lost in the round of 16 at Indian Wells in March, and his return to the courts is an important opportunity to assess his physical condition ahead of Roland Garros, which will take place between May 24 and June 7. A three-time winner of the Madrid tournament, Djokovic was eliminated last year in the second round, but now he aims to improve his game and increase competitive pressure in view of the title with his 25th Grand Slam.
