The International Automobile Federation (FIA) announced the disqualification of the McLaren cars driven by Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri at the end of the Formula 1 Grand Prix in Las Vegas, where they finished in second and fourth places. The reason for the disqualification is that the two cars did not comply with the regulations, having a thickness of the plank under the car less than the required limit of 9 millimeters. This decision completely changes the dynamics of the title fight, with Norris now having only a 24-point lead over Piastri and Verstappen. With 58 points available in the upcoming races in Qatar and Abu Dhabi, the competition is becoming increasingly tight. The updated standings place Norris in first place with 390 points, followed by Piastri and Verstappen, both with 366 points.
