Luka Modric, at the age of 40, will play one more season for AC Milan

According to the Croatian newspaper Germanijak, Luka Modric has decided to continue his career at AC Milan, expected to sign a one-year contract during this week, most likely on Wednesday. The Croatian playmaker will receive the same salary as in the previous season, approximately 3.5 million euros, plus bonuses. This news is welcome for the new coach of the team, Ruben Amorim, who appreciates Modric, the 2018 Ballon d'Or winner, and insisted on his continuity.

Although Modric will turn 41 in September and has had a successful career at Real Madrid, his future with the national team remains uncertain. Recently, he had a meeting with the new coach of Croatia, Slaven Bilic, who expressed the desire for Modric to continue playing for the national team, but left the final decision to the player. There are speculations that Modric might retire from the national team during a ceremony organized in October, on the occasion of the Nations League match against Spain.
