Luis Rubiales, the former president of the Spanish Football Federation, was attacked with eggs during the launch of his book titled "Tuer Rubiales" in Madrid. The incident occurred while Rubiales was presenting the book, at which point he managed to avoid two eggs thrown at him by a man rumored to be his uncle. Videos show how Rubiales, dressed in a black suit, tried to chase after the assailant but was stopped by other attendees.
Previously, Rubiales downplayed the forced kiss on player Jenni Hermoso, for which he was convicted of sexual assault, claiming it was a consensual act, a statement denied by Hermoso. He also considers himself a victim of a political plot, accusing the Spanish far-left. Rubiales is also facing corruption allegations related to the relocation contracts of the Spanish Super Cup in Saudi Arabia, being investigated for financial irregularities during his term.
