Lilli Tagger, an 18-year-old Austrian tennis player, won the WTA 250 tournament in Prague on Sunday, claiming her first title on the WTA circuit.
In the final, Tagger, ranked 74th in the world, defeated Ukrainian Daria Snigur, ranked 54th in the world and the 5th seed, with a score of 7-6 (7/3), 6-2, after an hour and a half of play. Her tournament run included victories against the 3rd seed, Sara Bejlek, in the quarterfinals, and the 2nd seed, Barbora Krejcikova, in the semifinals. Tagger thus becomes the second player ranked outside the top 50 to win the title in Prague, after Marie Bouzkova in 2022.
This is her second final in her career, after the one in Jiujiang in 2025. With this title, Tagger joins Mirra Andreeva as the second teenager to win a WTA trophy this year.
