Turkey: A well-known journalist has been arrested for leaking information about a transfer to Galatasaray that was not true.

The Turkish journalist Burhan Can Terzi was detained by the police under an order from the chief prosecutor's office in Bakirkoy, after he announced at the end of July that Galatasaray is very close to transferring the German midfielder Jamal Musiala from Bayern Munich.

The journalist, who maintained his statement and argued that his sources are credible, was released a few hours later. Moreover, no restrictions were imposed on him.

Shortly after Burhan Can Terzi spoke about the imminent transfer of Jamal Musiala, Galatasaray issued a press release in which it denied the information and requested that journalists be much more careful about what they publish.
