Romania's Jaqueline Cristian was defeated by Jasmine Paolini in the third round at Indian Wells, 4-6, 6-3, 6-4, after a two-hour and 28-minute battle. It was a match of many twists and turns, but Paolini managed to prevail and secure her place in the last 16, where she will meet Liudmila Samsonova.
