The Alpine Formula 1 team announces the departure of Jack Doohan, the reserve driver, after a short 2025 season.

The Alpine Formula 1 team confirmed on Tuesday the departure of Jack Doohan, their reserve driver, after reaching an agreement. Doohan, at 22 years old and the son of legendary motorcycle racer Mick Doohan, made his Formula 1 debut at the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix in 2024, being the first member of the Alpine Academy promoted to competition.

However, his 2025 season ended prematurely, after just six races, being replaced by Franco Colapinto, who will compete alongside Pierre Gasly in 2026. The team's statement emphasizes Doohan's professionalism and commitment, as he participated in 7 Grand Prix races without scoring points, with his best result being 13th place in China. Doohan will now seek new opportunities in his career.
