Istvan Kovacs was appointed to a derby in the quarter-finals of the Champions League

Istvan Kovacs has been appointed by UEFA to referee the match between Barcelona and Atletico Madrid, in the first leg of the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The match will take place on Wednesday at 22:00. Kovacs will be assisted by Mihai Marica and Ferencz Tunyogi, while the reserve referee will be Szabolcz Kovacs, his brother. Christian Dingert from Germany will serve as the VAR, with Tiago Martins as assistant.
