The American star Ilia Malinin won his third world title in figure skating on Saturday, surpassing the shock of finishing eighth at the Winter Olympics. At the competition in Prague, at the age of 21, Malinin scored a total of 329.40 points, including 218.11 points in the free program, where he executed five quadruple jumps.
He stated that he felt the support of the audience throughout the entire program, managing to finish without mistakes. Olympic silver medalist Yuma Kagiyama from Japan finished in second place with 306.67 points, while his compatriot Shun Sato took the bronze with 288.54 points, both delivering remarkable performances to classical music.
