In a Serie A match, Genoa achieved a dramatic victory against Sassuolo, with a score of 2-1. The visitors opened the scoring in the 18th minute through Ruslan Malinovskyi, but Domenico Berardi equalized immediately after the break, in the 47th minute, from a set piece. As the match seemed to be heading for a draw, Leo Ostigard scored the winning goal for Genoa in the 90+3 minute, also from a set piece, executed by Aaron Martin. Nicolae Stanciu was a substitute in this match, and the team was led by interim coach Roberto Murgita, assisted by Domenico Criscito. Due to this victory, Genoa climbs to 18th place in the standings, with 6 points and a goal difference of -8, surpassing Verona and Fiorentina. Sassuolo remains in 11th place, and Berardi scored the equalizing goal, marking his 150th goal for the club, thus solidifying his status as the top scorer in the history of the team.
