FIFA has initiated disciplinary proceedings against the Argentine national football team, following the violent incidents at the World Cup final against Spain, in which Argentina lost 0-1.

Argentine players, including Leandro Paredes, Nahuel Molina, Thiago Almada, and Roberto Ayala, are accused of multiple violations of the regulations, including the use of discriminatory gestures and breaches of security protocol. Paredes faces allegations of assault, while the Spanish player Gavi is accused of unsportsmanlike conduct.

The incident escalated after the final whistle, when Paredes assaulted several Spanish players, causing a scandal on the field. The international press has characterized Argentina's performance at the World Cup as shameful, and the players risk severe suspensions based on video evidence.
