The hosts opened the scoring as early as the 4th minute, after George Cîmpanu was fouled in the box by goalkeeper Dejan Iliev, and Mitrov converted the penalty. After 7 minutes, Costache equalized for the visitors with a shot from inside the box. 

Mailat set the final score in the 73rd minute and FC Botoşani achieved their fifth consecutive victory, climbing to first place in the standings with 25 points. UTA has 16 points and is in 8th place.
