Former Palestinian international Suleiman al-Obeid, known as the 'Palestinian Pele', was killed in the Gaza Strip following Israeli attacks.

The Palestinian Football Federation has announced the death of Suleiman al-Obeid, a former international who played 18 times for the national team. The 41-year-old was killed in the southern Gaza Strip while waiting for humanitarian aid. Al-Obeid was an outstanding midfielder who also had a career in the Jordanian championship. Since the beginning of the conflict, 807 Palestinian athletes have been killed, according to Federation data.
