Romanian swimmer David Popovici will take part in the U23 European Championships in Slovakia, competing in the 50, 100 and 200 meter freestyle events, as well as the 4x100 meter relay. This is his first official competition after his success at the Paris Olympics, where he won gold and bronze. In addition to his sporting career, Popovici is active in humanitarian action, raising €173,000 for vulnerable children in Romania through the 'Ambassador for Home' campaign, donating the kit he wore at the Olympic awards ceremony.
