Guillaume Cizeron and Laurence Fournier Beaudry won the world title in ice dance on Saturday in Prague, after being crowned Olympic champions last month in Milan. The French pair impressed the audience with a refined performance, scoring 138.07 points, just shy of the world record. With a total of 230.81 points from the two programs, they finished nearly 20 points ahead of Canadians Piper Gilles and Paul Poirier, who accumulated 211.52 points. The bronze medal was won by Americans Emilea Zingas and Vadim Kolesnik, with 209.20 points. Cizeron, at 31 years old, secured his sixth world title of his career, while Fournier Beaudry, at 33, won her first world medal. The French entered the ice as favorites, already having an advantage after Friday's rhythm dance and benefiting from the absence of their main rivals, Madison Chock and Evan Bates.
