Qatar Open: Jannik Sinner was eliminated in the quarter-finals

Jakub Mensik (the 16th player in the world) achieved the surprise of the tennis season's start, with the player from the Czech Republic defeating Jannik Sinner in the quarterfinals of the ATP tournament in Doha, with a score of 7-6(3), 2-6, 6-3.

This was the first direct match between the two tennis players. For Mensik, a finalist at the Qatar Open in 2025, this is his first victory against a player ranked in the top three ATP positions. 

In the semifinals, Mensik will face Arthur Fils. In the other semifinal, Carlos Alcaraz and Andrey Rublev are competing.
