AS Monaco has announced the permanent acquisition of player Ansu Fati from FC Barcelona for the sum of 11 million euros, according to journalist Fabrizio Romano. Fati, who was loaned to Monaco in July 2025, had a successful season, scoring 12 goals in 30 appearances. Although he had a promising debut at Barcelona, being considered the successor to Leo Messi, Fati faced difficulties due to medical issues, which led to successive loans to Brighton and Monaco. In total, Fati played 123 matches for Barcelona, managing to score 29 goals and provide 10 assists. The transfer of Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for 80 million euros complicated Fati's situation at Barcelona, but the Catalan club will benefit from a percentage of a future transfer of the player. Gordon, called up for the World Cup, has had a successful career at Newcastle, scoring 39 goals in 152 matches.
