Neymar has been called up to the Brazil national team for the World Cup

After an absence of over two years, Brazilian star Neymar was called up on Monday by coach Carlo Ancelotti to play in the World Cup, which will take place in the United States, Mexico, and Canada (June 11 - July 19), likely the last major tournament for the player.

The Italian coach explained that he closely monitored the physical performance of the forward over the past year and considered that he has regained his continuity and competitive rhythm, essential factors for including him on the final list. 

Ancelotti emphasized that Neymar will have to compete like any other player in the squad. Although he acknowledged his experience and leadership role, he insisted that no one has a guaranteed spot, and performances in training will determine who will be a starter.
