The Romanian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation celebrated the success of Amalia Lică, who won the silver medal on vault on the javelin at the World Championships in Rio de Janeiro. This is the first individual world medal for Romania in 33 years. Amalia, a debutant in the senior women's event, was scored 29.000 points, while the gold medal was won by German Darja Varfolomeev. Lică has an impressive record in the juniors with multiple European and world medals.
