Alex Dunne, a 19-year-old Irish driver, will pilot the McLaren MCL39 in the first free practice session at Monza, replacing Oscar Piastri. Dunne, who is in the race for the Formula 2 title, has made one previous appearance in F1, replacing Lando Norris in Austria. This will be the first practice session in which Piastri is replaced, and McLaren continues to fulfill the FIA program for young drivers.
