Three men from Comrat, UTA Gagauzia, are being investigated for their involvement in the illegal transport of migrants from Asia and Africa to the European Union. They, aged 30, 33, and 35, recruited drivers through ads on platforms like TikTok, Facebook, and Telegram, promising them jobs in the EU.
In reality, the drivers were paid 1,000 euros for each migrant transported, picking them up from the southeastern border of the European Union and taking them to countries such as Hungary, Croatia, Poland, Lithuania, and Austria. The Prosecutor's Office for the Fight Against Organized Crime and Special Causes (PCCOCS) conducted searches at the suspects' homes, confiscating electronic equipment, money, and fake documents. One of the suspects has been detained, another is being investigated at liberty, and the third is in hiding. Investigations continue in collaboration with Europol and European authorities to identify all those involved in this criminal network.
