Seven border customs posts in the Republic of Moldova temporarily suspended operations after an air raid alert was declared across Ukraine, the Customs Service and Border Police announced.
The measure affects the Otaci, Criva, Larga, Unguri, Ocnița, Briceni and Grimăncăuți posts. Authorities are advising travelers to temporarily avoid traveling to these crossing points until operations resume.
The situation also affects crossings where joint Moldovan-Ukrainian controls are in place. At the Briceni–Rosoșeni and Criva–Mămăliga posts, Moldovan customs officers and border police officers are carrying out their duties on Ukrainian territory. Another crossing mentioned in this context is Giurgiulești–Reni.
Starting September 12 at 08:00, the organization of controls at the three joint posts will be temporarily adjusted for a period of 90 days. Authorities have not yet specified when operations will resume at the seven posts affected by the air raid alert.
