Authorities in the Republic of Moldova tracked an unauthorized flight on Wednesday morning that entered the country’s airspace and left it approximately one minute later, heading toward Ukraine. The incident occurred amid massive attacks launched by the Russian Federation against Ukraine.
The Ministry of Defense in Chișinău announced that the Air Operations Service of the National Army identified the flight at 08:43. According to the authorities, it left the airspace of the Republic of Moldova at 08:44, heading toward the locality of Limanske, in Ukraine.
No official information has so far been provided about the nature of the aircraft involved or any potential damage. The Air Operations Service continues to monitor Moldovan airspace in coordination with the relevant institutions and external partners.
The entry of drones or missiles into the airspace of the Republic of Moldova and other states located near the Ukrainian front has become more frequent recently, amid the intensification of Russian attacks against Ukraine.
