Stelian Manic, the mayor of the city of Codru, announced on November 4 that he is leaving the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS) due to "political games" in the City Council, which are blocking the activity of the mayor's office and delaying construction work. Manic emphasized that these blockages have led to significant delays in voting on the budget and amendments, affecting the development of the community. He accused other parties, such as MAN, PSRM, and DA, of being involved in these political games, mentioning that they voted against the construction of a necessary school for the city.
The spokesperson for PAS, Adriana Vlas, stated that the party requested Manic's exclusion from February 2025 due to his attempts to promote illegal decisions. Although he was given a new chance, Manic continued to create conflicts in the mayor's office, which led to the decision to withdraw political support. Manic won the local elections in 2023 as a PAS representative, obtaining 52.73% of the votes.
