The President of the Republic of Moldova, Maia Sandu, has signed a decree appointing Dorin Recean as special envoy for development and resilience. In this new role, Recean, a former prime minister, will be responsible for promoting inter-institutional and multi-sectoral efforts to strengthen the state's capacity to prevent and combat hybrid threats to national security. His mandate includes mobilizing the necessary support to enhance the institutional, economic, and social resilience of the country, priorities set by the president.
The role of special envoy will bring in specialists with in-depth training in strategic areas, thus contributing to the achievement of the president's objectives. Dorin Recean has extensive experience in security and governance, having held positions such as Minister of Internal Affairs and presidential advisor for security.
