Iwona Piorko has been appointed ambassador of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova, succeeding Janis Mazeiks.

Iwona Piorko, current ambassador of the EU in Singapore, will take over the position of ambassador of the European Union in the Republic of Moldova, announced by Kaja Kallas, Vice President of the European Commission. With extensive experience within the European Commission, Piorko expressed her enthusiasm to collaborate with the team of the EU Delegation in Moldova. Originally from Poland and speaking six languages, she has had a remarkable professional career in the field of foreign affairs and security policy.
