The oligarch Ilan Șor, sentenced to 15 years in prison for fraud and money laundering in the 'Bank Fraud' case, announced on Telegram that he will also close social projects in the Republic of Moldova. The former fugitive deputy, who is in the Russian Federation, accuses the government led by Maia Sandu of blocking all possibilities to help people.
Șor stated that his funds are blocked and his employees are arrested. He also announced the creation of a 'common national front' aimed at helping the persecuted and overthrowing the current power. In the past, Șor opened social stores in the Republic of Moldova, but their activity was contested due to legality issues. Sentenced in April 2023, he must repay over 5.2 billion lei to the Savings Bank. Since he fled the country in 2019, Șor has lived in Israel, and now he is hiding in Russia, continuing to communicate with officials from other states.
