The President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelensky, will make an official visit to Romania on March 12, where he will meet with President Nicușor Dan. The details of the visit have not been published for security reasons. The leader of AUR, George Simion, reacted on social media, posting the message "We want PEACE" and commenting that the visit could be interpreted as a meeting with "sponsors" or "the master visiting the servants."

This will be Zelensky's second visit to Romania since the beginning of the Russian invasion, the first taking place in October 2023, when he discussed regional security. Simion has a history of criticism towards Zelensky, accusing Ukraine of a hostile attitude towards Romania and claiming that Bucharest has made too many concessions. He has also been banned in Ukraine due to activities considered anti-Ukrainian. In the 2025 presidential campaign, Simion reaffirmed his position of neutrality regarding the conflict in Ukraine.
