Mayor Dominic Fritz announces a reduction of 150 positions at the Timișoara City Hall and 80 at the Local Police

The mayor of Timișoara, Dominic Fritz, announced a new round of job cuts, affecting approximately 150 employees from the city hall and 80 from the Local Police, half of whom are already occupied. This measure is part of a necessary reorganization, considering that, since the beginning of his term in 2020, the staff will be reduced by 40%, despite the increase in investments and responsibilities.

Fritz emphasized the importance of respecting employees during this process, which will last several months, and assured that the goal is to improve the quality of public services and the efficiency of the institution. At the end of the reorganization, the City Hall will be stronger and more open to citizens, with a focus on digitization and streamlining work.
