The simple motion against Cătălin Predoiu, the Minister of Internal Affairs, was rejected in the Senate, recording 31 votes 'for' and 51 'against'. This was initiated by the AUR Party under the title 'Romania is too lucky to need mediocre politicians anymore. The moral guilt and political failure of Minister Cătălin Marian Predoiu'.
In front of the plenary, Predoiu stated that he was prepared to resign if the majority requested it, but emphasized that, for now, this is not the case. He mentioned that any minister must implement the government program. Additionally, recently, a documentary published by Recorder journalists highlighted irregularities and cases of corruption in the judicial system, some of which occurred during Predoiu's terms as Minister of Justice and Minister of Internal Affairs.
